Nothing spells spreading cheer and gifting spirit like the Christmas season whilst invoking the kid in everyone. The mere idea of giving and receiving gifts, be it stuffed animals and other toys wrapped with the hope of getting them from someone special, makes it the most awaited time of the year. Christmas giving also presents each one of us with an opportunity to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves and are in need of more support.
Fuelled by this spirit, Imagicaa reignited the fourth edition of its annual social impact initiative, Share The Joy; in association with Child Rights & You (CRY). The belief that every child deserves to receive happiness in one form or another, stimulated by generosity toward others and one’s spirit of giving is strongly etched through previous editions within all Imagicaan’s.
Imagicaa partnered with the housing society application MyGate which provides a direct gateway to residential homes. All through December, a total of 20 residential societies whole-heartedly participated and contributed over 2300 items including clothing, toys, books and stationery.
During the Christmas Season or beyond, just ‘Remember the True Spirit of Giving’.
The idea is to perform an act of kindness that can be inculcated as a sustainable practice in us. And through Share The Joy annual initiative, we have been able to achieve this objective. Imagicaa’ Share The Joy promise is to match one item for every item donated to multiply the happiness. In all, ~4600 items were distributed amongst 8 CRY PAGs.
Accompanied by an Imagicaan, our CEO – Dhimant Bakshi in-person distributed the collected and donated items at one centre (Rajashri Chhatrapti Shahu Maharaj Vidhyalaya). What made it worthwhile and worth the wait is knowing that Imagicaa had a small role to play in making these children happy. The entire gift-giving event atmosphere was one full of unfiltered happiness, smiles and joy. The common sentiment was that every contributing family and Imagicaan felt blessed that they could share what they had with those in need. This was reciprocated by the centre’s head, Mr. Sonawane too. Well to put it simply, overall an overwhelming emotion resonated through the air.
